Cycling to School
CYCLING TO SCHOOL
The parents will promise to:
(i) Take responsibility for ensuring that their child has a cycle that is in good working order and that the child is equipped to ride on the road, including the wearing of a cycle helmet.
(ii) Ensure that their child has a working knowledge of the Highway Code and accepts that the school cannot be held responsible for safety outside the school grounds.
(iii) Provide a lock - the cycle must be locked to the stand. However, the school cannot take responsibility for any damage to or theft of the cycle.
The child will promise to:
(i) Always wear a cycle helmet, keep the cycle in good working order and cycle safely at all times.
(ii) Dismount before entering the school grounds and wheel the cycle to the stand.
(iii) Keep the cycle locked.
The school will promise to:
(i) Attempt to keep the cycle in a safe place.
(ii) Provide a suitable cycle stand for the child.
(iii) Keep the parents informed of any problems associated with cycling to school.
If these rules are not adhered to, the school reserves the right to stop the child from using the facility.
